Day 01
Arrive in Delhi, where you will be met and
transferred to your hotel.
Day 02
After the daybreak feast, travel from Delhi
~ Haridwar ~ Rishikesh by bus in a 5 hours
journey. We will go on a sightseeing tour
of Haridwar, which is an important pilgrimage
place. Arrive Rishikesh and check into the
hotel. Overnight stay will be at Rishikesh.
Day 03
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Rishikesh
to Gauri Kund (2000 meters) by bus (9 hours).
Day 04
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Gauri
Kund to Kedarnath (3600 meters) in 6 hours.
This is a steep climb where we will walk
with hundreds of pilgrims from all over
India. The forest slowly gives way to splendid
views of Mount Kedarnath (6940 meters).
Day 05
After the daybreak feast, sightseeing in
Kedarnath is one of the most important Indian
pilgrimage places. The temple, built in
the 8th century and dedicated to the goddess
Shiva, is magnificently surrounded with
snow-capped peaks.
Day 06
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Kedarnath
to Gauri Kund in 4 hours.
Day 07
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Gauri
Kund to Maggu (3050 meters) in 6 hours.
After a 4-km drive to Son Prayag, we trek
upwards through dense forest.
Day 08
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Maggu
to Panwali Khanta (3150 meters) in 5 hours.
After a short climb, we follow a pleasant
trail over a flat area, and descend towards
the meadows of Panwali Khanta.
Day 09
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Panwali
Khanta to Ghuttu (1600 meters) in 6 hours.
We climb up to Khinko La (3500 meters),
and then descend through a magnificent tropical
forest and rice-fields.
Day 10
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Ghuttu
to Baghi Chatti (2600 meters) in 5 hours.
We continue our way through forest and rice-fields
to a ridge trail. From the top, the view
towards Mount Garhwal is quite impressive.
Day 11
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Baghi
Chatti to Budakedar (1530 meters) in 4 hours.
It will be an easy day with all-downward
trek passing through the fields and forests.
Day 12
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Budakedar
to Belak Khal (2750 meters) in 6 hours.
The trail passes through a succession of
tiny villages: Agund, Jhala and Pangrana.
Enjoy the magnificent high-alpine panorama
on the way.
Day 13
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Belak
Khal to Lata (1700 meters) in 3 hours, and
then to Gangotri (3050 meters) by bus (5
hours). We descend towards Bhagirathi, one
of the Ganges’s tributaries. Afterwards,
we drive the 80 km to Gangotri, a famous
place of pilgrimage.
Day 14
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Gangotri
to Bhojbasa (3800 meters) in 5 hours. We
progress along a picturesque trail, congested
with porters, mules, pilgrims and mobile
traders. From Raj Ghat, the glacial valley
gets wider, and soon we can see the Bhagirathi
massif, which rises above 6500 meters.
Day 15
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Bhojbasa
to Gaumukh (3900 meters) to Tapovan (4450
meters) in 4hours. From Gaumukh, source
of the Ganges, the scenery is fascinating,
with praying pilgrims and half-naked Sadhus
meditating along the banks of the tumultuous
stream that pours out of the glacier. The
trail crosses Gangotri moraines before reaching
Tapovan and its gorgeous meadows, furrowed
with streams and scattered with flowers.
From here the panoramic view over Shivling
(6540 meters), Meru (6660 meters) and the
Bhagirathi massifs (above 6500 meters) is
stunning.
Day 16
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Tapovan
to Bhojbasa in 3 hours. In the morning,
we lazily enjoy the charms of this magic
spot. In the afternoon we descend towards
Bhojbasa.
Day 17
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Bhojbasa
to Gangotri in 4 hours. We visit temples
of Gangotri in the afternoon.
Day 18
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Gangotri
- Uttarkashi (bus) in 6 hours.
Day 19
After the daybreak feast, proceed from Uttarkashi
- Delhi (bus) in 12 hours.
Day 20
After the daybreak feast, proceed from;
spend the day at leisure in Delhi.
Day 21
After the daybreak feast, proceed to airport
to take the flight back home. |
